A black moon will occur this weekend. This is what you’re expecting

Date:

The moon goes by many names. Full Sturgeon Moon was seen in August, but Skygarzer may have witnessed the Blood Moon in March. You may also have heard of the Blue Moon, the second full moon that takes place in a month.

And there’s a black moon that happens this weekend, which is rare and invisible.

This phenomenon occurs early on Saturday and on Friday nights. According to Earthsky, the moon will be closest to the sun at 2:06am on Saturday (Saturday).

Like the blue moon, the black moon is not an official term, but refers to the second new moon of the month. It occurs once every 29 months.

A new moon occurs when only the other side is illuminated by the sun and is not visible to the Earth. Marks the beginning of the moon cycle.

“The Black Moon (or new moon) is when the moon is between the Earth and the Sun, not when we see the moon rather than creating a solar eclipse,” said Noah Peter, chief of the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, at NASA’s Institute of Planets, Geology, Geophysics, Geophysics and Geochemistry.

What’s different from the solar eclipse is the layout of the moon. In a solar eclipse, the moon passes by the sun, blocking some or all of the sunlight, casting shadows on the Earth. However, a new moon (and a black moon) passes near the sun.

The term black moon can also refer to a month that does not have a new month. According to Peter, this usually happens in February as the moon cycle follows a 29.5-day pattern. In February, it usually takes 28 days, except when 29 days pass.

Black Moon is not visible, so Moon Watcher is not often seen.

But there are plenty of stargazers.

“The new moon or the black moon is great for astronomers when it’s clear,” Peter said.

According to Earthski, this is the best time to see the planet. Therefore, you may be able to find several celestial bodies such as Venus, Mars, and Saturn after sunset or just before sunrise.

If you have binoculars or telescopes, you can also note the dumbbell nebula, the colorful and shining remnants of an old star 1,200 light-years from Earth in the vulpecula constellation. The nebula appears in the early part of the night.

Look for four more Full Moons this year. Supermoon – Full moon, which appears when the moon is closest to Earth – occurs in October, November, and December.

According to Farmers Almanac, this is the list of the 2025 remaining Full Moons.

  • September 7th: Corn Moon

  • October 6th: Harvest Moon

  • November 5th: Beaver Moon

  • December 4th: Cold Moon

Solar Eclipse of the Moon and Sun in 2025

As summer approaches the end, two solar eclipse events will be held.

According to date and time, on September 7th and 8th, a total lunar eclipse will be visible in Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, eastern South America, Alaska and parts of Antarctica.

When the moon, the earth, and the moon are lined up, when the moon passes directly into the shadow of the earth, a solar eclipse of the moon occurs. This will make the moon look dark or dark.

According to the Natural History Museum in London, when the moon sits in the darkest part of the Earth’s shadow, the sun’s rays peer in from behind the Earth, giving the moon a reddish tint. Some call the outcome the blood moon.

Two weeks after the total lunar eclipse, on September 21st, a partial solar eclipse will be visible in parts of Australia, the Atlantic, Pacific Ocean and Antarctica.

A solar eclipse occurs when the moon travels between the sun and the earth. According to NASA, in the case of a partial solar eclipse, the moon does not completely block the sun. It creates a crescent moon – as if the moon bites from the sun.
