Google Cloud announces security team AI Ally

Date:

Google Cloud believes the answer to working security teams is not just a tool, but an AI-powered ally.

At Security Summit 2025, Google provided a vision for a future in which AI will free human security experts from boring jobs so that AI can focus on what is most important.

The central idea is to use AI to protect your organization and secure your own AI initiatives from attacks. As businesses become increasingly dependent on AI agents, these agents themselves become new frontiers of security concerns.

Protecting the AI ecosystem

Before AI can become a trusted defender, its own environment must be safe. To this end, Google Cloud is strengthening its AI protection solutions within its Security Command Center.

A new feature soon to arrive in preview will automatically discover all AI agents and servers in your environment. This helps security teams provide a clear view of the entire ecosystem of AI agents and discover vulnerabilities, false integrations, and high-risk interactions.

Real-time protection is also supported. Inline protection in model armor extends to prompts and responses within agent space, helping to block threats such as rapid injection and data leaks.

To ensure that AI agents are always using rules, new attitude controls will help you stick to your company’s security policies. Additionally, new threat detection powered by intelligence from Mandiant and Google Cloud allows security teams to better spot and respond to unusual or suspicious behavior from AI assets.

The rise of agent SOC

Perhaps the most forward-looking announcement is Google’s vision for the Agent Security Operations Center (SOC). Imagine a system that will help AI agents collaborate to manage threats, automate alert investigations, and help engineers create new detections to bridge security gaps.

The first step in this direction is the new alert investigation agent currently being previewed. The tool acts like a junior analyst, autonomously reviews security events, analyzes command line activity, and maps process trees based on the proven methods of Mandiant’s frontline experts. Agents provide verdicts on alerts, suggest the next step to human analysts, promise to reduce manual work and speed up response times.

AI security built on Google Cloud’s Unified Foundation

With Google Security Operations, the new Secops Labs offers users early access to powerful features. Many of them are powered by Gemini AI. New dashboards that bring together security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR) data are also now available, providing a more clear picture of your organization’s security attitude.

The trusted cloud, the platform’s foundation, is also receiving upgrades.

  • Compliance and risks: New compliance managers simplify the complex world of auditing and policy enforcement, but new risk reporting uses virtual red team technology to find security gaps that attackers can exploit.
  • Smarter access control: The boring task of granting permissions will get AI assist for the new IAM Roll Picker, which is currently in preview. It can simply explain what a person or service needs to do, and Gemini recommends the safest and at least the most frequent role. Reauthorization is now triggered due to highly sensitive actions to prevent account acquisitions.
  • Enhanced data and network security: Sensitive data protection has been extended to cover AI tools such as Vertex AI, and Cloud NGFW helps to apply zero trust principles to high-performance computing workloads, including AI.

By embedding AI at the core of your product, Google Cloud is working to create a foundation that enables security to enable business goals and helps defenders tackle the challenges of a new era.
