Chickfil restaurant near Dayton, Ohio is currently requiring parents to accompany their children when they visit. The location shared its teenage chaperone policy via Facebook on Wednesday, August 13th.

“As school started, we wanted to make sure everyone was aware of our teenage chaperone policies,” the restaurant said. “We appreciate your support and want to make sure Chick-fil-a Kettering is a safe and fun place for everyone! Thank you very much!”

Many social media commenters have begun to enjoy the restaurant’s policies as minors need to be accompanied by a chaperone for parents, guardians or adults over the age of 21.

If minors are not complying with the new policy, they may be asked to leave, the restaurant said.

One mother said, “Will my 18 year old daughter not be able to take my 7 year old daughter here without me (their mom)?”

Another wrote: “It’s pretty sad that good kids are being punished. Instead of chaperone policies, they say they have the right to remove someone from their property that is destructive.”

One defended the chain’s decision, writing, “No one is enough to constantly eliminate destructive teenagers who lack accountability and fear of consequences.”

In a written statement, Chick-fil-A said: “The Chick-fil-a restaurant is locally owned and operated, and the restaurant has a policy specific to the location.

The cases of companies banning minors without chaperones are becoming more and more common.

The Delu Amo Fashion Center in Torrance, California, the sixth largest mall in the United States, has a policy requiring shoppers under the age of 18 to be present on parents or Saturdays at 3pm and 3pm.
