Zelensky, Trump and EU leaders meet at the White House for talks about Ukraine
Ukrainian President Zelenkie, Trump and the European leaders will meet in Washington on Monday to discuss ceasefires and peace efforts.
President Donald Trump is scheduled to meet Ukrainian President Voldymi Zelensky and top European leaders at the White House on Monday, August 18th. This comes just days after the one-day Alaska Summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The meeting will take place just after the summit on Friday, August 15th at the Anchorage Session. As a result, there have been no major breakthroughs in peace negotiations over the years of the Russia-Flaine war. The talks reached its peak with an ambiguous statement to the media that Putin spoke about the “consensus,” but the pair’s scheduled press conference was cancelled.
Trump and his team will initially meet Zelensky and his team before sitting down later with a group of European leaders, allies of Ukrainian leaders since the war began in February 2022 after Russia’s invasion.
