CNN anchor Jakkapper was caught up in a hot microphone during a special August 15th report on President Donald Trump’s summit with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

Tapper, which normally runs the 2-hour program “The Lead” from Washington, DC, from 5pm to 7pm, was live in Alaska on Friday when his colleague Anderson Cooper tried to throw it back at him.

“I’m fine. Please bring the show back to me,” Tupper said. Hot Microphone Moments was shared on X by the conservative Newsbusters who manage editor Curtis Houck.

The smiling Cooper then said, “On the back of the show!”

After a nasty exchange, Tupper welcomed Sen. Adam Schiff to the show, but California Democrats couldn’t hear the CNN host. “I think I’ve lost you,” Schiff said.

Tupper then told the audience, “I have a real communication problem today. Sorry. If anyone can hear me, let’s go back to New York.”

At that point, Cooper once again said, “Now, Jake, thank you so much,” and took over.

USA Today reached out to Cooper, Tapper and CNN representatives for comment.

At the Alaska Summit, Trump and Putin failed to achieve a major breakthrough in peace negotiations over Russia’s war against Ukraine.

Tuppers get frustrated sometimes during on-air coverage. In 2020, Tupper made Lala Trump’s remarks at the 2020 campaign event, “Women for Trump.” Former President Joe Biden gave an interview about “Coalition State.”

“Every time he comes on stage and they turn to him, I go like this. Then Tupper asks, “How do you think the little kids in the Startters feel when you see you make such comments?”

Trump then replied that he had no idea that Biden had studs.

“I think what Jake saw on stage with Joe Biden is obviously a cognitive decline, and that’s what I’m referring to,” Trump said.

Tupper then shut down the interview and told Trump “I have no position to diagnose anyone’s cognitive decline.” In May, Tupper revealed that he had apologized to Trump for the incident.

That same month, Axios’ Tapper and co-author Alex Thompson released the controversial book, Original Sin, which explored the decline of Biden’s physical and cognitive functions during his presidency.

The book received a major backlash from certain liberals and center corners on the political spectrum.
