Arizona Iced Tea Prices Could Go Up From 99 Cents on Trump’s Tariffs

“As pressure continues to rise, there may be no other option but to adjust pricing, but we will try our best to avoid that,” said Arizona Senator and co-founder Don Vullutaggio.

Over 30 years later, Arizona Iced Tea could see prices rise for the first time.

Arizona Beverage Company is known for its 22 oz iced tea. This includes ginseng served in teal decorated with ginseng and honey decorated with cherry flowers decorated with honey. Since its founding in 1992, Arizona has been selling these cans for 99 cents, but Chairman and co-founder Don Vullutaggio told USA Today that the company may need to adjust its pricing if the tariffs implemented by President Donald Trump continue to rise.

Vultaggio said the situation is “particularly unfair” as 80% of the sheet metal used in Arizona products are recycled from the US. The other 20% is imported. On June 3, Trump signed an executive order issued a 50% tariff on all aluminum and steel imports.

“If the pressure continues to rise, there may be no other option but to adjust pricing, but we will try our best to avoid that,” Vultaggio said.

“Where’s where the savings are seen, like the low cost of pets’ crude oil (polyethylene terephthalate, plastic used in bottles), we pass it to customers with deeper promotions and complete price reductions, including tall boys with $1 plastic,” continues Vultaggio.
