Cryptocurrency meme coin creator behind recent WNBA sex toy incidents
USA Today Sports revealed the group behind the incident in which adult toys were thrown into the coat at WNBA Games. Meg Hall explains why the group says it’s doing this.
The WNBA issued a statement Friday about being thrown into arenas and courts over the past two weeks.
“The safety of everyone in our arena remains a top priority,” a WNBA spokesman said in a statement. “We are working closely with local and federal law enforcement agencies to pursue all appropriate measures, including arrests and prosecutions for felony charges, where applicable, against anyone engaged in this conduct and those involved in sponsoring this reckless and unacceptable behavior.”
Most of the toys thrown into the court are green, and cryptocurrency memecoin creators are responsible for this trend.
The group said it plans to do more “mystery” in protest against the “toxic” environment in the crypto world and is not intended to underestimate female athletes.
Seven known incidents of adult toys thrown into WNBA games have reached the court during four live game actions since July 29th. The two adult toys came down from the stand in a few minutes of decline. One had to arrive at the courthouse and stop playing.
The first incident occurred on July 29th, when the Golden State Valkyries were playing their Atlanta dreams at the Gateway Center Arena.
A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, public indecent/indecent exposure and criminal trespassing. The second individual was also arrested in one of the incidents in another WNBA game.
A spokesman for the Crypto Group said the two individuals arrested were not part of the group.
WNBAPA Executive Director Terri Jackson has also issued a statement on behalf of the Players’ Union regarding the situation.
“In response to requests for updates, the league advised the players union that it was investigating claims that individuals are incentivized to perform these insecure stunts,” Jackson said.
