Adam Sandler tees off again with “Happy Gilmore 2”

If you want to go to your happy place but can’t waive a trip to a local golf course or your favorite beach at all, the subway has an alternative option.
To further promote collaboration with Netflix comedy Happy Gilmore 2, Subway announced on Thursday, July 31st that it will turn one of its California locations into “Happy Place” of the new original film Happy Gilmore.
According to a news release from Sandwich Chain, Subway’s Happy Place will “have fans relive the iconic scenes and play mini golf on courses inspired by the film’s most memorable shots.”
Happy Place will be open to the public on Friday, August 8th from noon to 7pm. The restaurant is located at 1801 W. Pico Blvd. In Santa Monica, California. Admission is free, but fans are encouraged to book and line up to secure a spot at SubwayhappyPlace.com/Events.
“In addition to unique photo shoots, props from Happy Gilmore 2 and many subway sandwiches, fans can relax with ice cold beer on tap and find the center in the subway country club style beer garden,” according to the sandwich chain.

The subway announced Happy Gilmore’s meal, Collectible Cup, early this summer
To celebrate the arrival of “Happy Gilmore 2” on Netflix on July 25th, Subway announced a Happy Gilmore meal in late June. This will be available at U.S. and Canadian subway restaurants starting July 10th, with supply continuing.
Subway customers can make their day’s combos and meals into Happy Gilmore meals for an additional $1, and receive one of four limited edition collectible cups featuring fans’ favorite characters from the movie franchise.
The four Collective Cups feature Happy new caddies from Happy Gilmore (Adam Sandler), Shooter McGavin (Christopher McDonald), Hal L. (Ben Stiller), Oscar (Bud Bunny) and Happy Gilmore 2. Subway said in a July 31 news release that since launching them, it has sold around 2 million Happy Gilmore meals.
Each Happy Gilmore meal will “transport fans through QR codes to Subway’s Happy Place, inspired by Happy’s iconic dream world and transport fans to an immersive digital experience rethinked by Subway and Netflix,” Subway said in a news release.
Subway MVP reward members can get even more perks inside the happy subway location. For example, a bonus entry to a weekly sweepstakes to win a chance to win a weekly prize.
Subway told USA Today on July 30 that there was no end date for the promotion and it received a certain number of cups available as long as the supply continues for each location where each restaurant participates.
Customers are encouraged to check with local metro restaurants to inquire about the availability of cups.
“Happy Gilmore 2” wins Netflix’s biggest opening weekend count
According to internal Netflix data, “Happy Gilmore 2” watched 91.9 million minutes on its first weekend. This is 46.7 million views between July 25th and 27th, according to streamer calculations.
The viewership ratings give the right to boast about Sandler’s star-studded sequel to have the biggest US opening weekend for Netflix movies, a streamer spokesman confirmed by USA Today on July 30.
