Vice President JD Vance said President Donald Trump wanted “full transparency” in the Epstein incident.
The relationship between Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein from the 1990s to today
Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein looked like friends in the 90s and early 2000s, but they didn’t talk about it in the 15 years after Epstein’s death.
WASHINGTON – Vice President JD Vance said President Donald Trump has urged the administration to release all files relating to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, both Democrats and Republicans alike, so President Donald Trump has “nothing to hide.”
Trump was facing backlash from his MAGA base in recent weeks after the Justice Department concluded that Trump’s former friend Epstein died in suicide, contradicting his previous claims by General Pam Bondy.
In a public cry, Trump directed Bondi on July 17 to ask for the release of the Great Jury testimony from the federal incident that came to Epstein and his girlfriend. A federal judge in Florida rejected one of the administration’s requests on July 23rd. Two other requests are still pending in Manhattan Federal Court.
“Donald J. Trump, I’m telling you, he has nothing to hide. His administration has nothing to hide. So he was an advocate for complete transparency,” Vance told reporters on July 28 in Canton, Ohio.
Vance also accused the Obama administration and George W. Bush administrations of “easy” to not investigate his case “fully.”
“The Attorney General is now working on that issue,” he said, saying it “takes time” to gather all the information.
Vance was one of many Trump allies who surprised the hopes that the government’s Epsteen files contained evidence of a minor sex trafficking conspiracy.
Trump denied Epstein’s letter and will not rule out Gislane Maxwell’s pardon
President Donald Trump explained that he had dropped out of Jeffrey Epstein during a meeting with Scotland’s British Prime Minister.
He wrote in his September 2021 post in X’s:
In an October 2024 interview with Podcast host Theo Von, Vance said: “Seriously, that’s important. Von recently criticized Vance for his past remarks, asking, “What’s changed?”
The New York Times recently reported that former Epstein employee Maria Farmer told law enforcement in 1996 that she met Trump in Epstein’s office, and Epstein told Trump, “No, she’s not here for you.”
Trump attempted to shift his focus from Epstein’s files, but is under more scrutiny after a Wall Street Journal report that he sent an obscene letter to Epstein for his 50th birthday. Trump denied the report and sued news organizations over the story.
