The operating range of electric vehicles has improved significantly over the past few years. There are several affordable EVs in the market with a driving range of over 250 miles, such as the Chevrolet Equinox EV and the Tesla Model Y. Rucid’s electric vehicle set the new Guinness World Record title on July 6th in Munich, Germany for its operating range.

A team of three began their journey to set up a new range record in Silva Plana, Switzerland, driving a Meid Air Grand Tour. They completed their journey in Munich, Germany, and traveled alpine roads, highways and secondary roads, earning miles on as many trips as possible.
According to Google Maps estimates, the direct travel from Silvaplana to Munich covers around 190 miles and takes around 4 hours and 16 minutes. The three-man team completed the journey in two days, pushing Air Grand Touring to its limits and up to the Max Out Driving Range.
Things you need to know about Lucid’s record-breaking electric vehicles
The clear air is one of two electric vehicles in the company’s portfolio. It comes in four trims: pure tour, grand touring and sapphire final composition. The Lucid Air starts at $69,900 and is the top player on the Sapphire model at a whopping $249,000.
Lucid’s record-breaking electric car is its third trim, the Air Grand Touring ($110,900). Car and driver vehicle reviews show that even a luxurious EV is expensive, but “it has the scope, technology and grandeur that justifies its wide range of prices.”
