Danone US voluntarily recalls yogurt products, announced on Tuesday, July 14th, by the US Food and Drug Administration, citing the “presence of plastic pieces” in the package.
Food and Beverage Company issued a recall on July 11th. The FDA said it reported plastic pieces that pose a risk of consumers being suffocated.
The fragments were transparent, with potentially sharp edges, some between 7 mm and 25 mm in length.
“This issue is only separated into individually packaged toppers and does not affect yogurt packaged separately,” the FDA said in a news release.

According to the FDA, the product is sold at retail stores nationwide, and the recall “applies to all flavors and sizes” of Yokulanchi products currently on the market.
Danone is working to remove Yocrunch products that have been affected by retailers, the FDA said.
