USA Today Taste Tests McDonald’s Snack Laps
USA Today reporters and producers should return to the menu for the first time since 2016 and try out McDonald’s snack wraps.
There’s a competition in McDonald’s beloved snack wraps.
Chicken rap, which returned to McDonald’s menu on July 10, nearly a decade after the items were phased out, sparked a rap war. Several fast food chains, like Burger King, have reminded fans who have had wraps for many years, and have recently added their own version to Menace.
McDonald’s raps are available in Ratocarte and Combo meals. It comes in two flavors: spicy and ranch. Combo meal comes in two snack wraps, medium fries and options. If you order only wraps, each item will cost $2.99.

Burger King BK Royal Crispy Wrap
According to a 2023 news release from the chain, Burger King took part in the rap game in 2023 with the introduction of BK Royal Crispy Rap.
The wrap comes with one of three flavors: crunchy white meat chicken, tomatoes, lettuce and a soft tortilla.

Popeyeus chicken wrap
On June 2, Popeyes announced that it would introduce chicken wrap to its menu for a limited time, and that it would “have the coveted flavor of Popeyes and is now ready to be wrapped and wrapped everywhere.”
The wrap features a bid for Popeye’s hand-rolled chicken with crispy lettuce, fine cheese and crispy pickles, all in a warm tortilla inspired by the flavor of Popeye es biscuits.

Popeyes will be handing out free chicken wraps on orders over $5 from July 10th to Sunday July 13th.
USA Today reviews McDonald’s, Popeyez and Taco Bell Snack Wrap
USA Today senior reporter Mike Snider Taste tested the chicken snack wraps from McDonald’s, Popeyez and Taco Bell.
Sonic’s crispy soft wrap
Sonic is another chain that recently introduced chicken wraps to its menu. The company told USA Today on June 7 that it added two new, crispy tender wraps to its value menu. Both contain utterly white meat, crispy tender, lettuce, tomatoes and melted cheddar cheese wrapped in a soft flour tortilla.
- Flavor: Cheap Baja Crispy Tender Wrap and Honey Chipotle Sackey Soft Wrap
- Cost: $1.99
Sonic also told USA Today that there will be more rap flavors later this year.
Taco Bell’s Crispy Chicken Tacos and Burritos (aka Wrap)
Earlier this summer, Tacos Bell debuted a new lineup of crispy chicken menu items, including tacos and burritos, after a successful ordeal with chicken nuggets.
The new item lineup is available for a limited time only, including:
- Crispy Chicken Tacos ($2.79): We chose a whole new spicy ranchero or avocado lunch sauce with one crunchy chicken strip woven with purple cabbage, lettuce, pico de gallo and shredded cheddar cheese.
- Crispy Chicken Burrito ($5.49): A full-size burrito featuring two crunchy chicken strips surrounded by a bed of purple cabbage, lettuce, pico de gallo and cheddar cheese, and a selection of all-new spicy ranchero or avocado lunch sauces.
The chain said in a news release that “Crispy Chicken is the future” and that it plans to land permanently on the Taco Bell menu in 2026.
Wendy’s rap duo
According to the online menu, Wendy’s also serves chicken wraps in three different varieties.
Customers can choose from a Grilled chicken, Spicy chicken or Classic Chicken Rap Duo.
In addition to chicken, Wendy’s rap duo also comes with lettuce, fine cheese, ranch and flour tortillas. Each order comes with two wraps.
