Known for its hardshell chocolate exterior and creamy nutty green centre, Dubai Chocolate Bar has taken over social media for several months. In addition to countless “dupets” or replicas of viral chocolate, some brands have released their own products that draw inspiration from desserts.
Shake Shack has released Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Shake, Costco in stock with Dubai Chocolate Ice Cream Bar and Starbucks.
Notable brands that released their own Dubai chocolate bars have launched Dubai-style chocolate bars on Monday, July 7th at major retailers such as Walmart, Target, Walgreens and Kroger.
Let’s take a look at some of the products that float around the atmosphere of Dubai chocolate flavor.
Shaking the shack
In June, Shake Shack released Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Shake. The shake is topped with pistachio frozen custard, toasted kataifi (shred phyllo), dark chocolate shells, chopped pistachios and kataifi. Shakes start at $9.49.
A Shake Shack spokesperson told USA Today that shakes will be available at participating locations through August, but due to availability and ingredients, each location will sell a limited amount of shakes per day.
Costco
After some time based in California, we released our Dubai Chocolate Ice Cream Bar earlier this summer. However, as of July 10th, the ice cream bar was not listed on the Costco website.
When contacted by USA Today on July 10th, neither Costco nor opening hours were immediately responded.
I’m craving cookies
Crave Cookies has released two Dubai chocolate-inspired items: Cookies and Strawberry Cups.
According to the Crave Cookies website, the cookies are made from chocolate dough, stuffed with Kunafa Pistachio stuffing, layered with milk and white chocolate icing and crispy toasted kataifi. Cookies are available at participating locations until Thursday, July 10th.
The Dubai Chocolate Strawberry Cup is made with homemade pistachio cream, milk chocolate ganache, crushed pistachios, strawberries, shipping kataifi and crushed chocolate chip cookies.
Starbucks
While Starbucks has not officially released Dubai Chocolate Drinks, the chain has created a “secret” menu item that matches the taste and aesthetic.
Starbucks recommends the following order to drink Dubai chocolate-inspired drinks:
- Grande Ice Matcha Latte
- Two pumps of pistachio sauce
- Chocolate cream cold foam
What is Bailardobai Chocolate Bar?
The original Dubai Chocolate Bar is made from a modified dessert chocolatier in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and is called “Can’t Get of It.” The six-pack bar will cost $120 on the revised dessert chocolatier website, and one bar will cost $20.
The chocolate bar was released in 2022, and Sarah Hamoudah, founder of Dessert Chocolatier, wanted to satisfy her pregnancy desires with kunafe (a Middle Eastern dessert made with pastry dough, sweet cheese and syrup) and pistachios.
“Can Can Cnafeh of It” first went viral in 2023. Content creator Maria Vehera posted a Tiktoku trying out a gorgeous chocolate bar. As of July 10th, the video has received over 131 million views.
Countless brands have created their own versions, or “Dupée” of viral chocolate bars, including Florida-based Balch ($19 for a bar), New York City-based The Nuts Factory ($50 for two bars), and countless homemade recipes from Etsy.
