When was the snack wrap cancelled?
Snack wrap was the first hit on McDonald’s menu in 2006. Over the next decade, according to the Food Network, it appeared on the menu in several different iterations, but the same main ingredients, chicken meat (grilled or crispy), lettuce, cheese and sauce, appeared in soft flour tortillas.
According to McDonald’s, snack wraps were phased out nationwide in 2016, but “doesn’t leave the hearts of fans.”
“From countless social media posts to full-fledged petitions, they never gave up on their favorite menu items. They’re the ones who have made us return to the menu,” McDonald said.
What are the MacDonald’s snack wraps available?
The snack wrap features one of McDonald’s new MacCrispy strips, according to the chain, topped with finely lettuce and shredded cheese, and wrapped in a soft flour tortilla.
McDonald’s will also add new spicy breakfast items to the menu
In addition to the snack wrap, McDonald’s has announced a series of new options to “spice” their breakfast menu as part of McMuffin’s 50th anniversary ceremony.
Three new spicy breakfast menu items include spicy McMuffins, spicy sausage McMuffins and spicy sausage McMuffins with eggs. According to McDonald’s, the item features English muffins with traditional ingredients such as cheese, eggs, Canadian bacon or sausage, but with buttered English muffins.
According to Fast Food Chain, new breakfast items will fall into the store in eight, with limited time spent at participating locations.
McDonald’s founded the Egg McMuffin in 1975. The breakfast item was the brainchild of Herb Peterson, a McDonald’s franchisee in Santa Barbara, California.
