Jackson Fuller of Southwest Times Record shares the top five prospects in the MLB draft who can hear the names being called early.
How about an internal home run at the park to close out the baseball viewing that day?
That’s exactly what San Francisco Giants’ Patrick Bailey went late on Tuesday, July 8th. His team visited the Philadelphia Phillies 3-1 at the bottom of the nine innings, with Bailey hitting a long drive from Phillies pitcher Jordan Romano at right-center field. Ball made a crazy carom from the asymmetrical outfield wall at Oracle Park and rolled the warning track as Phillies outfielder Brandon Marsh chased.

A leadoff double by Casey Schmidt was followed by Wilmer Flores’ singles, bringing Bailey’s dramatic heroic stage and a 4-3 victory. The victory was the Giants’ fourth straight set, lifting the team’s record to 51-42. He finished second in the NL West, losing five games after five games after the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Bailey’s walk-off inside hoodie was reminiscent of a single hit by the Giants’ Angel Pagan at the same stadium in 2013. Pagan’s hit ball took a similar trajectory to Bailey’s hit, bounced off the field wall in the middle right and rolled down the warning track as the outfielder chased after an unexpected bounce.
The latest walk-off home run for the park’s internal home run came on August 19, 2016, when Cleveland’s Tylernakin competed against the Toronto Blue Jays.
