Everything you need to know before the WNBA All-Star Game
Mackenzie Salmon from Sports Tilegians breaks down some of the big storylines coming out of the WNBA All-Star Game as they get closer soon.
Seriously sports
Will Kate Linklark join forces with his Indiana Fever teammates during the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game?
“It’s likely that (Kelsey Mitchell) and (Aliya Boston) will appear on my team,” Clark said Monday during season ticket holders’ open practice. “I’m going to do everything I can to get these two.”
Clark was named the 2025 WNBA All-Star Captain on June 29, after receiving the most fan votes on June 29, giving him a unique opportunity to create his own roster through the WNBA All-Star Game Draft, which airs Tuesday (7pm, ET, ESPN). Fever teammates Aliya Boston and Kelsey Mitchell are both available after picking up a third All-Star nod as a starter and reserve, respectively.
2025 WNBA All-Star Starter, Reserve: Lease, plums join the roster and there are plenty of snubs
Clark’s All-Star Team picks make a lot of sense given the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game will be held at Fever’s Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on July 19th. Fever is tied with Seattle Storm for its representative most in this year’s All-Star Game.
The Minnesota Lynx is moving forward with All-Star captain Naphesa Collier after winning the second fan vote, but is in a similar position. Collier’s teammate Courtney Williams will be drafted after winning his second All-Star selection as a sanctuary.

Who will draft first in Caitlin Clark?
All-Star captain Kate Linklark will first set aside Indiana Fever teammate Aliya Boston, according to Wynn’s latest 2025 WNBA All-Star Mock Draft. “Chemistry is already well established, and Boston was one of the best big names in the league this year,” Meghan Hall wrote. Here we catch up with Hall’s full mock draft.
WNBA All-Star Game Snub
As with the selective process, there will be some respectable athletes being interrupted by the team. The same goes for 2025. Here are some of the players worthy All-Star cases, but are shortened:
- G Kayla McBride, Minnesota Links
Minnesota Links currently boasts the highest record in the WNBA. McBride is the reason. The four All-Stars have shot more than 40% in a row from the 3-point range in the second season. Yes, her playstyle can lead to some guys if she’s not hitting the shot. After all, she failed to score double digit points in the 3-inch game. It said her ability to expand the floor in conjunction with solid playmaking has made her one of the league’s most feared players for many years. When she gets hot she can turn the game over her head.
- fAlana Smith, Minnesota Links
You can’t get the best record in the WNBA without countless talents, and Alana Smith is a living proof. She could be considered the fourth scoring option on her team, but it doesn’t take away any efficiency on the floor and also offers all the solid glass work while shooting 48.6% off the field.

Opinion: Kate Linklark should choose Angel Reese for her WNBA All-Star Team
Caitlyn Clark has the opportunity to calm her fans’ worst toxic behavior and send a message highlighted by drafting Angel Reese.
The Chicago Sky Forward was cast as the villain of Clark’s hero, dating back to his college junior year, when Reese waving her ring finger at Clark after LSU defeated Iowa in the NCAA Championship Game. It wasn’t important whether Reese was imitating Clark’s own “You can’t see me” or that. A rivalry has been created.
But the rivalry between Clark and Reese is ugly, a problem for everyone in the WNBA. Read the full column by Nancy Armor here.
