Joey Chestnut didn’t eat this food for a while after the competition
Competitive Eater Joey Chestnut shares what kind of food he’s taken off after eating too much.
Seriously sports
Joey Chestnut got more than a mustard belt for his victory at Nathan’s Hot Dog Meal Contest in 2025.
He pockets $10,000, similar to female champion Miki Sudow.
For chestnuts, it amounts to about $142 per hot dog and bread he consumed, and he ate a total of 70½ in the annual 10-minute contest in Coney Island, New York.
“Amazing,” Chestnut said. He returned to competition after a year of ban. “I’m really lucky. I know competitive food. I’m not buying tickets to see it. And it’s not a ton of ads, so I don’t have the most money involved.”
Chestnut confirmed that he would do exponentially from his three-year contract with Nathan, but he refused to disclose the terms of the transaction.
Nathan’s competitors will compete for a total of $40,000 prize money, for men and for $20,000 for women.
According to George Shea, co-founder of Major League Meals and host of Nathan’s contest, $10,000 will be given to the winners, but the second-place finishers each win a $5,000 each, with the remaining $2,500 split between the fourth and fifth-place finishers.
