Are you ready for nostalgia? Step into Chuck E. Cheese’s new adult arcade.
Chuck’s Arcade combines new classic arcade games that target adult audiences.
Chuck E. Cheese unlocked new efforts: a retro style shopping mall arcade.
In late June, CEC Entertainment, the parent company of Chuck E. Cheese, announced Chuck arcades and retro style arcades in 10 shopping malls across the country. The arcade features a variety of games and product counters, but unlike traditional Chuck E. cheese, it mostly does not offer a food choice.
The new Chuck arcade was created by remeasuring and renovating the fun spot arcade at an existing shopping mall, which is already owned by CEC Entertainment, a company spokesperson told USA Today.
The new arcade will take place five years after CEC Entertainment filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2020. Amid the pandemic, the company has closed 45 locations. In 2019, the company reported losing $29 million, a court filing said, and in 2020, CEC Entertainment lost more than 90% of its revenue despite serving delivery and take-out meals, according to a previous USA Today report.
A CEC Entertainment spokesman told USA Today that the company returned to pre-Covid revenue in 2023, and it was remodeling of more than 475 Chuck E. Cheese locations nationwide that helped drive the company’s recovery.
“Our $350 million investment has produced significant results, resulting in levels of traffic growth we have never seen in nearly 50 years,” a company spokesperson said. “Chuck’s arcade is a unique addition, designed for guests who grew up with Chuck E. Cheese, and we wanted more. We are not expected to fundamentally change our business, but it meets the needs of this loyal segment.”

Does Chuck’s Arcade sell food?
Most Chuck’s arcades do not sell foods like traditional Chuck E. cheese. The exceptions are Chuck’s Arcade and Pizzeria in Kansas City, Missouri. It offers a full chuck E. cheese menu, which includes beer and wine.
Does Chuck’s arcade feature an animatronic band?
No, sadly, the band Munch believed in is part of the past. The Animatronic Band was removed from the location and was cancelled in 2023.
