If you have purchased a video game from GameStop in the last five years, you may be eligible for some multi-million dollar payments.
The electronics and gaming company claimed that the company was sharing personal information about its customers without consent, Alejandro Aldana and Scott Galliev. Mamestop, Inc. agreed to pay $4.5 million in the class action lawsuit.
According to the lawsuit, GameStop shared personal identifiable information from its online video game customers. This can include details that allow you to return to Facebook via the Facebook Tracking Pixel (now known as the Meta Pixel). Marketers use data collection tools to collect information that uses content and ads to target users.
Like many settlements, GameStop did not admit negligence as part of the contract.
