Japan executed a man known as “Twitter Killer.” He was convicted of nine, mostly women, mostly women, in his first use of the death penalty for almost three years.

According to NHK, Shiraishi’s execution is the country’s first ever seen since July 2022.
In Japan, the death penalty is distributed through hanging and the execution date is not disclosed until the penalty is executed. Executions are wrapped in secret with little or no warning, and families and lawyers are usually notified only after the execution has been carried out.
“The death penalty was finalized following a thorough testing process. After careful and careful consideration of all the factors, I issued the execution order,” Suzuki said.
