Activists launch “economic power outage” over Day against McDonald’s
McDonald’s is the latest major company facing a boycott over changes to its DEI policy. The group is seeking “economic power outages.”

The next line of Happy Meal toys is really meta. There are other staple foods from the fast food chain, including miniature replicas from McDonald’s restaurants, as well as small food plates, order kiosks and delivery trucks.
These new Lil MacDonald’s toys (a total of 21 will be available) are coming to Happy Meal on July 1st.
“As a parent, there’s something magical about seeing your child’s imagination come to life with these little toys,” Anna Engel, director of marketing, brand, content and culture at McDonald’s USA, said in a press release. “That’s what makes Lil MacDonald’s special. It brought me my own childhood memories of playing McDonald’s, and now I can create something new with my kids.”
The announcement of the new Happy Meal toy is in protest of McDonald’s June 24-30 boycott hosted by grassroots advocacy group The People’s Unia, suppressing corporate DEI initiatives in January.

The new toys will be available at Lil MacDonald’s Happy Meal nationwide from July 1st. Among the 21 toys are a miniature version of the checkout register, fries, a soft drink machine, a seating booth and even a small boo bucket.
Happy eating also has some digital enhancements.
