Princess Kate thank the hospital staff for cancer in remission
Princess Kate thanked the London hospital staff after revealing that her cancer is in remission.
Princess Kate missed the unexpected look at Royal Ascott.
Prince William went to Royal Ascott without his wife on Wednesday, June 18th. The Princess of Wales, who announced her cancer was in remission in January, was listed in the June 18 event schedule, according to the New York Times and the Washington Post.
USA Today has contacted Kensington Palace for more details.
Princess Kate’s absence comes days after joining William on Monday, June 16th on orders for Garter Service in Windsor. Kate recently attended Torping the Color, King Charles’ annual birthday celebration on Saturday, June 14th.
Princess Wales was previously absent from Royal Ascott when she was undergoing cancer treatment in June 2024. A few days before the event that year, Kate shared in a statement that she “has made good progress” in the cancer battle, but “as anyone experiencing chemotherapy knows, there are good days and bad days.”
Kate said at the time she was “looking forward to” attending some general engagements over the next few months. Still, she said, “I was learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty.”
Kate quickly returned to the public and announced that she had completed her chemotherapy treatment by September. She has appeared at many events since then, revealing that her cancer is in remission in January. She said at the time that she was “focusing on recovery.”
“As anyone who has had a cancer diagnosis knows, it takes time to adapt to the new normal,” she said. “But I look forward to a fulfilling year. There’s a lot to look forward to.”
