Israel has attacked Iran and is targeting Tehran’s nuclear program, according to the Israeli government. According to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel attacked Natanz’s Iranian uranium enrichment facility and launched additional targets “in the mind” of the Islamic Republic’s enrichment, nuclear and ballistic missile programme.

According to Netanyahu, “Iran’s leading nuclear scientists” were also targets. Reuters reports that Iranian state media has confirmed the killing of Revolutionary Guard Commander Hossein Salami among other high-ranking officials.

Let’s take a closer look at where the attack took place and what the nuclear site would look like before the strike.

The following satellite image from Maxar Technologies shows important Iranian nuclear facilities before the strike.

A social media post by Flightradar24 appears to indicate flights away from Iran and Tel Aviv are detouring. According to the flight tracking company, Iran and Iraq have closed their airspace.
