California Gov. Gavin Newsom has not been cursing as top Republican officials criticize President Donald Trump’s handling of increasingly hostile protests against immigration policies.
In addition to his continued feud with Trump, which suggested that Democrats would be arrested, Newsom responded to drastic criticism from Vice President J.D. Vance, Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton, and other GOP officials.
Tensions between Golden State and federal regulators come after the Trump administration deployed National Guard troops to crack down on violent protests against immigration attacks in LA. After the president has already approved the deployment of 2,000 security guards, around 700 US Marines and 2,000 national security guards have been ordered to mobilize protesters in the area.
A native San Francisco criticized the president’s comments on Monday, June 9, criticising Emperor Tom Homan as “it’s great” to arrest him.
“The US president just called for the arrest of an incumbent governor. This is the day I hoped not to see him in America,” he wrote to X.
Newsom used all the tools in his arsenal, including 800 additional police officers, to fight back with all the tools, including lawsuits and disgusts that Trump behaves like a “dictator.”
“Los Angeles: Don’t take Trump’s food. Trump wants confusion and is inciting violence,” Newsom said in a post on X.
White House communications director Stephen Chan has joined social media to accuse Newsom of “the biggest cuck in American politics.” “We accused domestic terrorists of admitting that they allowed them to secrate and defile the CA community.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegses said the Marines “have seen an increase in threats to federal law enforcement officials and federal buildings, and about 700 active duty members have been deployed in Los Angeles to be sent to restore orders.”
“We have an obligation to defend federal law enforcement officials, even if Gavin Newsom doesn’t,” Heggs said. This post has been viewed over 3 million times within four hours.
Trump and Newsom often clashed, but the showdown against Los Angeles shows a new low in their fierce relationship. In the lawsuit, Newsom says the Trump administration is violating California’s sovereignty.
“One of the cornerstones of our nation and our democracy is that our people are controlled by civilians, not by military forces,” the lawsuit says. Trump “used the protests that local governments had under their control to gain another unprecedented power.”
Newsom used the official California governor’s website to send federal troops to the state without the president’s consent, saying that 800 states and police officers would “clean the chaos for President Trump.”
This is a breakdown of Newsom’s clashes on social media.
Vice President Vance urged California governors to escalated confusion in the state before denounced Trump and the White House’s actions.
“Do your job. That’s all we’re asking,” Vance wrote.
Less than two hours later, Newsom said, “Do your job. There was no problem until Trump was involved. I’ll withdraw the order. I’ll bring control back to California.”
Vance later responded to a video shared by the official Homeland Security X account of a masked demonstrator carrying a Mexican flag while standing on a graffiti car, just like a burning car lined up in the street.
“This administration will not be threatened by lawlessness,” he wrote. “We support FBI agents tracking violent criminals, security guards, local police and Marines to restore order, and ice agents enforcing our immigration laws. President Trump will not step back.”
Tom Cotton
Senator Cotton denounced Democrats of the violence that escalated on LA Sunday.
“They demand open borders, or they riot, and DEM politicians like Newsom back them up,” the U.S. Senator from Arkansas writes about X.
Newsom responded to X’s writing: “The only one that supports only all Trump’s minions who allow you and him to illegally militarize our city and incite violence.
“Your policies have created this confusion, which is what accusing police officers and the National Guard of ‘inciting’ this violence,” Cotton wrote in a photo of protesters writing the Mexican flag. And California deserves better.”
Jim Jordan
Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, has indirectly tackled LA protesters waving flags for Mexico or other countries.
Newsom later cited an X-Post with photo rioters from the January 6th rebellion that stormed the US Capitol, which held the American flag in 2021.
“Like this?” Newsom removed.
Jordan did not reply to the governor’s comment, but continued to tackle the situation in LA, which states, “President Trump has deported illegal criminal aliens, and the left is burning Los Angeles.”
“Republicans support law enforcement. Left rioters throw rocks at them,” he later wrote.
Tommy Tuberville
Newsom later responded to a Florida voice report from US Sen. Tommy Tuberville of Alabama, which reflected Trump’s call to arrest California governor.
“I’ll lock him in,” Tuberville told Florida’s voice. “La looks like a third world country. It’s in charge of anarchists, law enforcement is being attacked, and there’s no rule of law.”
Newsom responded to a retired college football coach, citing Alabama has a multiple of three times the rate of murder in California.
According to the latest CDC data, in 2022, Alabama had a homicide rate of 14.9, with more than 700 deaths, while California had a 5.9% death rate of over 2,300.
“That murder rate ranks third in the nation,” Newsom wrote. “Sticking to soccer, mates.”
