Several people were airlifted to hospitals after a skydiving plane crashed in Coffee County, Tennessee on June 8th, authorities and authorities said.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol said in a Facebook post that between 16 and 20 people were on the plane and crashed near Tarahoma, about 60 miles south of Nashville. Tarahoma City spokesman Lyle Russell confirmed that 20 passengers, including crew, are on the plane in Tennessee, part of the USA Today network.
Three people on the plane were sent to receive treatment via helicopters, and a fourth passenger with “more serious injuries” was transported by the ground, all being taken to a local hospital. The condition of the other victims was not immediately known.
No ground injuries have been reported, according to the statement.
The plane involved was a skydiving plane, which departed from Tarahoma Municipal Airport around 12:30pm local time, according to a statement from Russell.
First responders in Coffee County and Tarahoma are leading the response, according to the patrol.
