From disappointment to threats, there are six takeaways from the public spit between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk.
WASHINGTON – It took a little longer than he liked, but Steve Bannon ended up beating over Elon Musk.
In an interview in mid-January, Donald Trump’s former chief strategist promised to get the musk he called “the evil man.” Six months later, the masks are on. And there’s an ongoing feud between Trump and the world’s wealthiest man.
Bannon surprised the tension that began when Musk, a former special government official who led Trump’s government efficiency, called on Senators to reject Trump’s tax cuts bill. The two have been swapping barbs ever since, and Musk suggests that Trump has been bounced each and Trump is grieving to reporters on June 5th, and he didn’t know if he and his former companions could repair their relationship.
Bannon tightens musk screws
In print, radio and podcast interviews, Bannon piled up on Musk. He called on Trump to end the government contract for SpaceX founders and Tesla co-founders. He also stabbed Trump to investigate alleged drug use by a South African-born businessman and his immigrant status.
“He crossed the Rubicon. Commenting on spending on the bill is one thing. There’s another thing about what he did,” Bannon said in NPR’s “Morning Edition” program. “You can’t come out and kill this first term president’s most important legislative event.”
Trump said Musk’s claim that in a private classification file related to the positive responses of financial and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and Musk, referring to the positive response of Trump to replace Vice President JD Vance, is too far away in NPR, the public broadcasting organization the White House is trying to remove.
“It crossed the line,” Bannon said of the mask. “I won’t go back.”
Bannon said in his June 6 podcast that he did not consider the ouster of masks to be a personal victory. “I’ve never seen anything like this. Right now it’s a national security issue,” Bannon told Unherd on the Freddie Sayers podcast.
