Restaurant Chain Hooters began closing suddenly this month despite saying it would not shutter the restaurant during the bankruptcy proceedings.
More than 30 company-owned locations across more than 12 states have been closed, and on Wednesday, June 4th, the company is called a “difficult decision.”
The closure comes after the chain agrees to sell all of the 151 company-owned restaurants to all franchise groups.
“Hooters stays here and with a stronger financial foundation and streamlined operations on the other side of this process, we are suited to continue the hospitality experience and delicious food that we have been engrossed with our guests.
Despite the security that Hooters won’t be closed, the company has closed its location since at least 2024.
Hooters did not respond to a complete list of closed locations or follow-up inquiries when employees were notified of the closure.
On June 4th, at least 30 locations were suddenly closed. This is what we know so far.
