Restaurant chain Hooters suddenly closed more than 30 locations in multiple states on June 4th.

Hooters said in a statement to USA Today that the store is closed is owned by the company and calls the closure a “difficult decision.”

“Hooters would be suitable to continue our iconic legacy under a purely franchise business model,” the company said. “We are committed to supporting the impacted team members throughout this process and are extremely grateful to our valued customers for their loyalty and dedication to the Hooters brand.”

We did not respond when we were followed up inquiries about a list of closed locations or when employees were notified of the closure.

The company filed for bankruptcy in late March, but did not indicate that the restaurant would be closing as a result of the filing.

“Hooters will remain here and continue to offer guests an obsessive hospitality experience and delicious food with a stronger financial foundation and streamlined operation on the other side of this process.

There are 305 hooters locations, including 151 people owned and operated by the company itself and another 154 run by the franchisee. The company has been closed suddenly since at least 2024.

This knows that up to now, the latest locations have been closed.
