Biglot stores are set to reopen in six states
Many large lot stores are expected to reopen on April 10th despite filing for bankruptcy last year and closing several locations.

Biglot’s comeback continues.
After a four-round reopening of stores staring in April, Biglot has reopened more than 200 locations across the US. A total of 219 stores have reopened. It also acquired two distribution centres in December 2024, with the same number of stores purchased by variety wholesalers.
“We are excited to bring in a large lot! Brands will come back to life by offering a new apparel division for more well-known brands and the whole family than ever before,” Lisa Saggies, CEO of variety wholesalers, said in an April news release.
Biglot did not immediately answer USA Today’s questions about future reopening of stores.

Where did Biglot stores reopen?
Biglot reopened its stores with four different waves, including those on Thursday, June 4th. The first round saw nine stores reopen in April in six states. Two more rounds in May saw 132 stores reopen across the US

Other retailers taking over the location of the big lot
Other retailers other than variety wholesalers have announced the purchase of the Big Lot location. Rhode Island-based Ocean Statelot announced that it will purchase 15 big lots in New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, Maine and Vermont in March.
In February, Ollie’s Bargain Outlet said it would buy the location of 40 former Big Lot Stores.
