Sidney Sweeney has once cleared up rumors about his engagement to Jonathan Davino.
When asked by the British newspaper about Sunday Times status, Sweeney was honest but withheld details.
She confirmed that she no longer planned a wedding with Davino. The two were linked for almost seven years. And when asked if she was single now, she replied “Yes.”
“I’m learning a lot about myself, spending more time with my friends, and I love it,” the 27-year-old told the newspaper.
Sweeney’s comments, featured in the newspaper’s May 31 feature story, appearing in the time that was etched in her new Apple TV+ film, “Echo Valley,” has come more than three months since rumors began to swirl into a potentially shaky relationship. By the end of March, outlets, including People, TMZ and US Weekly, had reported that the two had split.
Sweeney’s representatives did not respond to a request for comment from USA Today at the time.

Sweeney also mentioned the box office success that Davino co-produced in the 2023 film “Her” and the film. The film – and marketing stunts of Sweeney and co-star Glenn Powell promoted a rarely seen race to watch ROM-COM in theaters.
“I think we were very happy with the film reception because Glenn and I adore each other,” she said. (Sweeney attended Powell’s sister’s wedding in Texas in March.)
“If you spend a lot of time with someone, you get closer and talk to each other about something,” she told the Sunday Times. “So work, life, family, friends, he’s just there for me. I’m there for him.”
In an April 2024 interview with The New York Times, Powell admitted speculation about whether he and Sweeney were cheating on him.
“The two things that have to sell ROM-COM are fun and chemical. Sydney and I have a lot of fun together. “It’s people who want things on screen from screen, sometimes they just have to lean a little bit.”
He added: “Sydney is very smart.”

Sweeney was also open to the Sunday Times about his return to the “Euphoria” set.
“It’s crazy to come back. I love Cathy,” she said. “She’s crazy.”
Sweeney also got honest about what she feels is a typecast when auditioning for the role.
“I’m in a place where they don’t think they’re right for the role because they see euphoria.
The other battles she is fighting in Hollywood are “taken seriously as a producer.” Sweeney said, “I have to prove myself as a young woman, an actor, a businessman.”
