Biden will be speaking publicly for the first time since cancer diagnosis
Former President Joe Biden gave his first public speech at an anniversary event in Delaware since the cancer diagnosis was announced.
WASHINGTON – Former President Bill Clinton argued in an interview that he is in good condition despite former President Joe Biden’s new book documenting Biden’s cognitive and physical decline, despite his inner circle explaining that he limits working hours and access to aides.
The book “Original Sin,” written by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios’s Alex Thompson, contains information from White House aides and staff members who said they were “fairly far away,” forgetting the screenplay cabinet meeting and basic facts.
“I thought he was a good president. The only concern he thought he had to deal with was, “Can anyone do that job until he’s 86?” And we’d never seen him.
“I saw President Biden a while back. I thought he was in good condition, but the book didn’t register with me,” Clinton said.
Biden set his sights on the book and its author, telling reporters on May 30, “I know I’m mentally incompetent and can’t walk — and I can beat hell from both of them.”
Biden recently said he was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer and began treatment.
Clinton said he didn’t want to read the book because Biden is no longer president.
“I think he did a good job,” Clinton said of Biden. “And I think we are facing challenges today without precedents in our history, and some people are trying to use this as a way to blame him for the fact that Trump has been re-elected.”
