No Brands – Entertainment
A few months after releasing the Grammy-winning “Endless Summer Vacation” album, Miley Cyrus dropped a surprise song.
The “Once upon a Younger” story follows her journey from the naive, charming hell of her 20s to the insightful and distinctive hell of 30 years old.
Two years later, Cyrus settled in a gap of determination and creativity, evolving into one of the most charismatic singers and intriguing songwriters of her generation.
Now, with her ninth studio album, “Something Beautiful” (May 30), she is offering fans a new musical view that exists in harmony with banger and ballad. In addition to the album drop, Cyrus will release a visual film of the same name, premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 6th and will perform in cinemas nationwide for just one day on June 12th.
Often bored with respect to ancestors such as Stevie Nicks and Joan Jett, Cyrus said the inspiration for her ambitious projects was Pink Floyd’s 1979 masterpiece, “The Wall.”
If you go to the concept album route, you can also study Masters.
Thirteen tracks of “Something Beautiful” revolve around the conventional themes of heartbreak and trauma, but Cyrus also offers a shade of soore and optimism, with her distinctive, sniffing voice set in Soar Mode.
She used a ballad (“More to Lose” with an infectious “end of the world”) sewn together, and created an art rock/pop opera using Buzzy Electronic instrumentals.
Still, I have my favorite songs. Let’s solve Cyrus’ best “something beautiful”:
“The Golden Burning Sun”
It blends into the gentle chewing grooves and Strammy acoustic guitars that deliberately wink the Laurel Canyon Crew of the early 70s. Cyrus’s interest in the dark and light dichotomous musical style is in the spotlight, but in the end she embraces the dreamy side. “Subadge…and I will never disappoint you,” she promises, her voice lends a dash of sweetness to the song, as her voice enters her girly highs.
“A walk of fame”
From the explosion of the opening of guest Brittany Howard’s vocalization and galloping keyboards, the Pulse Dance song vibrates with energy. This is the sound of today collided with squeeze synthesizers walled around European nightclubs in the 80s. It is also the longest song on the album in six minutes, with many of its tails paying homage to the Giorgio Moroder/Dona Summer Disco voyage.
“All the girls you’ve ever loved”
Some of the album’s tracks feature prominent saxophones (records of the ’80s national anthem), and this song is no exception. Before the synthesizer walls begin to ping pong, the hypnotic beats (including the red hot chili peppers chives) settle in as the backdrop for the rebellious lyrics. “I will match my bag with my new dress/I still look like ten, but my hair is confused,” she sings in lament, but a confident declaration. Supermodel Naomi Campbell appeared in the song, adding a stylishly spoken word poem with repeated “posing”;
‘give me love’
Cyrus ends his musical expedition, with a sweep ballad, a whirlwind of atmosphere voices and sounds that play beautifully with his visual counterpart. Cyrus leaning against her apocalyptic thinking, whispering canvas in strings, flute, acoustic guitar and sitar colours reveals, “I say goodbye to earthly joy. Even in the song, Cyrus never admits.
