Ford preparations for tariff impacts suspend financial guidance for 2025
Ford Motor Company said its financial situation in the first quarter is better than expected, but Trump’s tariffs could make 2025 difficult.

Ford recalls more than a million vehicles due to a freeze-back camera issue that could lead to a crash.
“A software error may cause delays, freezes or not displaying images when the image on the back camera is reversed,” read the recall announcement on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website. “Frozen or missing rear-camera images can reduce the view of the driver behind the vehicle and increase the risk of crashes.”
Ford said he was unaware of injuries related to the recall.
However, according to documents shared online about the issue, “Ford is aware of one allegation of a small crash that would result in damage to the property.”

Which Ford cars will be recalled?
Recall, no. The 25V315000 includes 1,075,299 vehicles, including Mustang, Broncos and Corsair. Ford’s recall number is 25S49. The affected vehicles include:
- 2021-2024 F-150: 527,371 cars
- 2021-2024 Edge: 157,506 cars
- 2022-2025 Transit: 136,968 units
- 2021-2024 Bronco: 104,394 units
- 2023-2024 F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, and F-600: 65,385 cars
- 2021-2023 Lincoln Nautilus: 23,468 units
- 2022-2024 Expedition: 18,124 units
- 2023-2024 Escape: 17,909 cars
- 2021-2023 Make -8,949 Vehicles
- 2024 Mustangs: 4,988 units
- 2024 Rangers: 3,907 units
- 2022-2024 Navigator: 3,612 units
- 2023-2024 Corsair: 2,718 units
What if I have a recalled Ford vehicle?
Ford updates your vehicle software for free, either through dealers or through air updates. The company began mailing customers on June 16th, and a second letter will be sent when the solution becomes available in the third quarter of 2025.

How did the company do about this issue?
The NHTSA contacted Ford on January 17, 2025 regarding back camera complaints regarding FORD F-150 vehicles from 2021 to 2023, according to documents shared online.
The NHTSA has a survey of 37 vehicle owners, reviewed by Ford’s Automobile Safety Bureau. Ford found in a survey of 15 that the driver said the image on the rear camera had been frozen.
Other drivers noted software issues and “intermittent or persistent loss of back camera images”.
The following month, on February 6, 2025, Ford’s key concern review group discovered another concern about images from a frozen back camera. A few months later, in April, the company’s engineering team learned that the problem was likely caused by software issues.
