Defense strategy for Shaun “Diddy” comb in his sex crime trial
Legal experts are discussing the strategies Sean “Diddy” Comb’s defense attorney will use in federal sex crime trials.
Kim Porter and Sean “Diddy” Combs are like a pop culture power couple, and their decade-long romance is still centrally staging.
Porter, the late model actress who dated the hip-hop monk from 1994 to 2007, is referenced in Combs’ ongoing criminal trial in Manhattan, where Combs, 55, is accused of engaging in prostitution through sex trafficking, assault and transport. He pleads not guilty to all charges.
Porter’s enduring romance and the founder of Bad Boy Records grew up when Combs’ ex-girlfriend, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura Fine, stood up. The former R&B star, who has also been involved with Combs for a decade, became open about his feelings towards Porter when he was opened up about the tragic abuse he allegedly experienced from Comb.

How did Diddy and Kim Porter meet?
Porter met Combs in the 1990s when he was an A&R executive at Uptown Records. At the time, Porter was R&B singer-songwriter Al B. Sure! I was dating.
“When I first saw her, she was in the studio with her ex-boyfriend,” Combs told Essence Magazine in a 2006 interview. “I wasn’t going to scream for her or anything, but I was admiring her – her lips, her eyes, her mouth, her shape, her energy – and I’m thinking, ‘I wish there was such a girl.’ ”
Porter was later hired as a receptionist for a pioneering hip-hop record label, and was the setting for budding romance.
“She was as smooth as ice,” Combs told the outlet. “She’s collected as cool and thinks before you talk. You meet a lot of young women. They don’t do that. Kim was never forced on her. She was always in control.”
After 13 years of dating, in 2007, they were called the only couple in Ong to officially call it, but the two were friendly and often spent their holidays together.

Porter and Combs shared four children, including Porter’s 33-year-old son Quincy Brown. Other children in the couple include son Christian “King” Combs, 27, and twin daughters Dalilla and Jesse Combs.
How did Kim Porter die?
Porter passed away in November 2018 at the age of 47 after it was found unresponsive at his San Fernando Valley home. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office later confirmed that she had died of pneumonia.
Combs lamented Porter and paid tribute to their close bond in an emotional Instagram post shared a few days after her unexpected death.
“We were more than best friends. We were more than soulmates,” writes Combs. “And I’ll miss you. Super Black Love.”

During the testimony on May 15, Ventura Fine said there was a “je” to Porter, and the ju umpire was shown a series of text messages from 2013, where she saw Porter and Combs with her children, and was pissed that she was not invited to family vacations or gatherings. She also expressed concern that it appears to be a “side piece” rather than a partner at Combs.
While standing up on May 16th, Ventura Fine said she was attending a follow-up service ceremony for Porter, Georgia, when she saw Combs for the last time. She told the defense that when Combs called Porter a “soulmate” on social media, he determined it was “very hurtful.”
