Diddy Trial Update: Cathy sobbing to the stand as her testimony concludes
After the trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs in the first week of testimony, time in Cassie’s stand ends following the tragic testimony about Combs’ alleged abuse.
Prosecutors in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ ongoing criminal trials continue to build a lawsuit against the hip-hop mogul who fought after a week of emotional testimony from Combs’ former girlfriend Kathy Ventura.
Combs’ swept federal sexual crime trial resumed in Manhattan Court on May 19 after the rapper’s legal team punished Cassandra “Cathy” Ventura for alleged sexual abuse suffered in Combs’ hands during an interrogation on May 16th.
Ventura Fine’s testimony ended with sobs as the singer spoke of “agency and autonomy” that she would have had in life if she had not participated in “freak off.”
Another Combs accuser who took the stand was Dawn Richard, a former member of Danity Kane, of Combs’ Platinum Cellar Girl Group. Richard, who sued combs over physical and sexual abuse allegations in September 2024, testified that he saw a ventura fall down at a Los Angeles home in 2009 and dragged it upstairs into his hair.
Richard is back in the stands after Combs called her and others who witnessed alleged attacks on the studio the following day, offered flowers to them, and told the court that their careers would be harmed if they reported the case.
Combs, 55, was arrested in September 2024 on charges of sex trafficking, assault and transporting to engage in prostitution. He pleads not guilty to all charges.
Danity Kane Alum and Combs’ former Diddy – Dirty Money Collaborator Richard explained that he was witnessing him attacking the Combs attack Ventura as he was making eggs in the kitchen of Combs’ Los Angeles home.

- Louis Vuitton bag with a bottle of clonazepam – benzodiazepines used for anxiety and seizures – Combs alias, prescribed by Frank Black
- Two pieces of lubricant in the drawer of the right nightstand
- The medicine bottle on the left nightstand features two clear plastic bags filled with pink substances. One bag that tested positive for ketamine had a mixture of MDMA and ketamine
- Fanny pack hanging from bed with $9,000 in cash
- The mobile phone belonging to combs “kk” Khorram is said to be the “right hand” of Combs
US lawyer Emily Johnson asked if Ventura Fine would return the $20 million settlement she received from Combs, if it meant that she would erase her past “freak-off.” The Ventura Fine begins to tear and “If I have to have a ‘freak-off’, I’ll pay the money back. ”
As she began to sob, she continued, “I would have had an agency and autonomy. I wouldn’t have to work hard to get it back.”
Ventura Fine testified that she had dinner at an Italian restaurant in 2018 before claiming it was an allegation featured in the November 2023 civil lawsuit. She is then asked if she wonders if Combs is in a bipolar episode during the rape, and she confirms that she has done it.
A Combs lawyer asked about his feelings towards Combs in September 2018, saying he “still had feelings.” Regarding her feelings about the comb now, she said, “I don’t hate him” and “I love the past and what it is.”

Using the RICO Act, which is generally intended to target multi-person criminal organizations, prosecutors join “freak-offs” of threats and drugs, saying that Combs is claiming forced victims, some of whom are sex workers.
“The trial is expected to last about eight weeks,” the ju judge said in a survey reviewed by USA Today.
Usually, cameras are not allowed in federal criminal trial proceedings, so the exam will not be broadcast.
