The serious wildfires that had been furious in Russia’s Siberian region have swallowed more than 600,000 hectares of forest, local authorities have warned.
A federal-level state of emergency has been introduced in the eastern territory of Zabaikalsky Krai, where federal emergency situations have been introduced since late April, reported by the Russian state news agency TASS.
Despite great efforts to tackle wildfires in Mongolia and its adjacent areas, 49 forest fires continue to burn, with a total area of over 629,000 hectares, Russia’s Ministry of Emergency said on Wednesday.
