Pacers – Again – surprised the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Indiana eliminated a 14-point deficit in the fourth quarter and scored the final eight points of the game within 58 seconds, earning Game 2 120-119 on Tuesday night. And with that, the Pacers now have a 2-0 lead in the NBA playoffs second round series heading for Indiana.

Pacer chipped in a slow lead behind a driving layup by forward Pascalciacam, closing the margin to three points with 28 seconds left. However, the Cavaliers easily intercepted a pass to guard Andrew Nenbird, and guard Max Strath lobbed the pass, causing the Cavaliers to fail to inbound the ball.

Pacers point guard Tyrees Halliburton was fouled on the drive, playing with his injured left wrist. He made his first free throw and closed the deficit to two points. Halliburton recovered his own rebound, reset his attack and raced a stepback 3 pointer with 1.1 seconds left.

The Cavaliers were unable to advance the ball as there was no timeout remaining.

The loss ruined Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell’s 48-point, nine assist masterpiece, but the Pacers reached double digits with six players. Forward Aaron Nesmith and center Miles Turner led the way with 23 points each.

The Cavaliers lacked three important players: Darius Garland, Evan Mobley and DeAndre Hunter.

Game 3 will be in Indianapolis on Friday (7:30pm on ESPN).
