Israel struck multiple sites in Yemen’s capital Sanaa on Tuesday. This states that the Israeli military is currently “completely” impaired.
“A while ago, IDF (Israel Defence Force) fighters struck and dismantled Hooty’s terrorist infrastructure at major airports in Sanaa, completely disabling the airport,” Israeli forces added in a statement Tuesday that several major power plants in the Sanaa region were also attacked.
At least one person was killed and three others were injured in the airport attack, according to the Houthi-Run Health Department.
Israeli forces previously issued evacuation warnings at Yemen’s international airport in Sanaa, marking them more than 1,000 miles from Israel when the IDF first issued such notice to Yemen.
Houthi leader Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti vowed retaliation against the Israelis, telling Al Arabiya TV on Tuesday:
Tuesday’s attacks have shown a major escalation between Iran-backed Houtis and Israeli forces, and have recently spiraled rapidly.
On Sunday, the Houthi ballistic missiles spread into Israeli air defense and crashed near Ben Gurion International Airport after an unsuccessful attempt to intercept the missile, the IDF said. This strike appears to be the first time an Israeli international airport has successfully targeted a group’s target.
Iran-backed Hooti rebels have argued responsibility for the attack, saying they are responding to Israel’s attacks in Gaza, and warned Israel would “impose a comprehensive air lockdown” by “repeated targets at airports.” It called for international airlines to cancel all scheduled flights at Israeli airports, which they planned accordingly.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to retaliate.

In a later post to X, he also promised to answer Iran. “Israel responds to Hooty’s attacks on our major airports.
That retaliation began on Monday, when Yemen launched a series of strikes against the second-largest port of Hodeida, which began on Monday, killing at least one person and injuring another 35 people, according to the Ministry of Health.
The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) said 20 fighter jets were on its mission — the first Israeli strike in Yemen in a few months — would hit the targets of dozens of Hoodeida and the surrounding area. Al-Masirah of the Houthi Run TV channel said Hodeidah Port had been hit at least six times, confirming an attack on a nearby cement factory.
The IDF argued that Hodeidah Seaport is “used to transfer Iranian weapons, equipment for military purposes, and other fear-related needs.”
Israel struck Sanaa International Airport in December, killing at least three people and injuring 30 people, according to the Houthi Run Al-Masirah Satellite Television Network.
