The National Nurses Week has arrived, and restaurant chains across the country are offering giveaways and discounts to show their appreciation.
According to American Nurse Enterprises, many chains will be congratulating the promotion of Nurse 6-12 year olds in 2025 after rolling out the Cinco de Mailo and Teacher Appreciation Week deal.
“Whether you’re a nurse, a healthcare professional, a patient, or simply a person who appreciates the important role nurses play in our lives and society, National Nurse Week is the perfect time to share your appreciation and celebrate nurses,” the group wrote on its website.
American Nurses Enterprise, which covers the American Nurses Association, the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and the American Nurses Foundation, “advocates for nurses, advances excellence and encourages transformative change,” the group wrote on its website.
This is where nurses can receive prizes and discounts during this year’s National Nurse Week.
Why does National Nurse Week start this Tuesday?
According to the American Nurses Enterprise website, National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th on Florence Nightingale’s birthday.
“These permanent dates will expand the planning and National Nurses week as established awareness events,” Enterprise said on its website.
In 1982, President Ronald Reagan signed a declaration designated on May 6th as the “National Recognition Date for Nurse.”
Provides over $2 million free burritos for Chipotle educators and health professionals
Chipotle announced on April 30 that it was awarding 200,000 teachers and medical professionals free Burrito E-Cards. This is equivalent to more than $2 million in free food.
Teachers and healthcare professionals will have the opportunity to win a free Antrée E card from April 30th to May 12th at their respective microsites.
At the end of Teacher Appreciation Week and National Nurse Appreciation Week, 100,000 teachers and 100,000 healthcare workers will be randomly selected and receive an email to check employment status via ID.me.
Teachers and healthcare professionals who successfully verify employment status within 48 hours will receive a free Antrée E card. Winners will be notified from the week of May 13th.
“Teachers and healthcare professionals are extremely important members of the community we serve,” Chipotle Chief Brand Officer Chris Brand said in a news release. “To express gratitude, we are expanding our awareness efforts and launching the largest free burrito-gib back program in history.”
Mod Pizza offers Bogo for teachers and nurses
In honor of the National Teacher and Nurse Appreciation Week, Mod Pizza is inviting teachers and nurses to visit places to participate, enjoy the places to buy, and get free pizza offers from May 5-8.
To redeem the offer, participants must present a valid teacher or nurse ID upon check-out, and one free pizza limit per ID is required. Buy pizza and get a second pizza for free. The offer is only valid in-store, the company told USA Today.
Tim Horton offers donut deals to teachers and nurses
Tim Horton has bought one donut from nurses and has received one free deal from May 6-12, the company said. Additionally, nurses can purchase dozens of donuts and get six free donuts with that stretch.
The same offer could also be used for teachers, the company told USA Today.
Scooters Coffee will offer free medium drinks to healthcare workers on May 6th
Scooters Coffee is offering free medium drinks to nurses and healthcare workers on Tuesday, May 6th, the first day of National Nurse Week. This offer is valid at participating locations with a valid healthcare ID and is not eligible for mobile orders.
Additionally, a limited number of Healthcare Heroes stickers will be available at each location, with supply being the last.
Sonny’s BBQ will offer free nurse meals from May 5-7
Sonny’s BBQ offers nurses a free pork big deal at Sonny’s BBQ location with a verified coupon from May 5-7. Pork big names include pulled or sliced pork sandwiches, buddies and drinks.
Nurses can sign up at sonnysbbq.com/nurses-week-2025 and receive a coupon via email.
McAllister’s Deli offers free tea for nurses and teachers
From May 5th to 12th, teachers and nurses will be able to get free big tea by showing their badges or IDs at participating McAllister deli locations, the company told USA Today. Offers are valid only in-store and no purchase is required.
Mountain Mike Pizza offers all pizza discounts for teachers and nurses
Mountain Mike’s Pizza is offering 15% off all pizzas from May 6th to 9th and 15% off all pizzas, the company told USA Today.
Logan’s Roadhouse offers discounted entrees for nurses
From May 5th to 12th, nurses can get 20% off Antrée with a valid ID at Logan’s Roadhouse restaurants.
