What are Americans more than fireworks and food? Of course fast food.
For the first time this year, Yelp celebrated the country’s insatiable desire for fried or occasionally grilled entrees by rounding up the top 20 fast food chicken sandwich chains.
“American romance with a travel, burger-chicken sandwich is hotter than ever,” Yelp said in a press release. “Whether it’s a fiery Nashville-style filet, classics with buttermilk, or a cheeky chicken finger, these crunchy pieces have taken the central stage on menus across the country.”
Searches for “chicken sandwiches” increased 125% in June 2025 compared to June 2019, according to data collected by online directory and review platform Yelp.
“Whether you’re a fan of fiery heat, crispy crunches, or secret sauces, these popular bites have been gaining over-fans nationwide,” according to Yelp.
All brands or fast food chains on this list have over 100 historic locations, working in multiple states, and reviews mentioning chicken sandwiches. With National Fried Chicken Day behind us, there’s no good time to check out your go-to fast food spot ranks.
