The New York Yankees will try to keep their season alive on Tuesday, October 7th as they host the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 3 of the American League Division Series.
Toronto held the first two games at home and were on the verge of advancing to the Championship Series round. The unlikely hero of Game 2 was rookie right-hander Trey Yeverage. He struck out 11 and allowed no hits in 5° innings as the Jays cruised to a 13-7 victory.
Toronto is looking for a clincher in Game 3, so they turn to trade deadline acquisition Shane Bieber (4-2, 3.57 ERA in the regular season). Needing a win to force Game 4, New York countered with veteran left-hander Carlos Rodon.

John Schneider’s message to experts who thought the Yankees would cruise
“We haven’t. I think we’re really focused on playing the game. I think we’re confident when we play the game. We had a good weekend at home. We’re treating this like a 0-0 series. We can’t take our foot off the gas.”

Aaron Judge is 8 for 18 in the Yankees’ five postseason games in 2025, but with one extra base hit and eight doubles in Toronto’s 13-7 Game 2 win.

They have yet to lose, including the first two games of the ALDS. There, they routed the New York Yankees in both games.
They’ll be sporting that retro cap tonight as they look to advance to the ALCS with a Game 3 win over their division rival.
