Will Jimmy Kimmel apologise for Charlie Kirk’s comments?

What should Jimmy Kimmel say when the host of a late-night talk show airs? That’s the heart of many viewers.

It was suspended “indefinitely” by ABC on Wednesday, September 17th, almost a week ago since “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Statements of response and support were poured from government officials, Hollywood stars and late-night talk show hosts. Unitarian threats. ”

Kimmel has been suspended over his comments on Charlie Kirk’s death, his politics and President Donald Trump’s reaction to the fatal shooting of September 10th. (This is a complete transcription of what Kimmel said on the September 15th show.)

The suspension followed comments from Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Kerr. He called the monologue “now a very serious problem for Disney,” and “there is a call to fire Kimmel.” Trump congratulated the suspension and said it was “great news for America.”

But the only person we haven’t heard is Kimmel himself. The comedian has not publicly addressed the suspension that ended Monday, September 22, when the Walt Disney Company announced that his show would air after “Thoughtful Conversation.”

So, as “The View” did at the beginning, does Kimmel go on a completely smooth journey with the controversy? Will he apologise to Kirk’s family, as the Sinclair Broadcasting Group requested?

Or will Kimmel get double down and criticize the person responsible for the temporary suspension of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”?

Will Jimmy Kimmel apologise for Charlie Kirk’s comments?

Kimmel is known for pushing back Trump and his administration, but it is unclear what the hosts have on Tuesday, September 23rd. None of them were released beyond the Disney statement on Monday, September 22nd.

“Last Wednesday, we decided to suspend production of the show to avoid further inflammatory tension in our country’s emotional moments,” Disney said in a statement to USA Today. “This is a decision we made because some of the comments felt badly timed and therefore insensitive. We spent our last day having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.”

For now, Kimmel and his network are in line with one thing: returning tomorrow night at 11:35pm ET.

Turning Point USA returns Jimmy Kimmel “mistake”

According to CNN, Turning Point USA spokesman Andrew Kolvet has maintained pressure on ABC affiliate station owners after the decision to broadcast Kimmel.

“It’s not surprising to see Disney and ABC’s Caves and Kimmel come back into the air, but that’s their mistake,” the statement read. “NextStar and Sinclair don’t have to make the same choice.”

USA Today contacted NextStar for comments.

Who was the guest at Jimmy Kimmel’s first showback?

It has not yet been revealed whether Kimmel will expect a celebrity guest on the night he returns.

Comedian Wanda Sykes was scheduled to appear in Kimmel’s show “Evening.” “I was getting ready, I was heading to the car and my spokesperson called me and said, ‘Don’t come, the show was first,'” Sykes said of the experience.

Perhaps he could make a guest choice. More than 400 stars, including A-listers like Jennifer Aniston and Tom Hanks, have signed letters in support of Kimmel.

“Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Will you be back forever?

That’s not necessarily the case. Nexstar and Sinclair can choose to preempt the show in other coverage.

In fact, according to a statement to USA Today on Monday, September 22nd, Sinclair’s representative said, “From Tuesday night, Sinclair will be “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

“As we evaluate the show’s potential returns, discussions with ABC are ongoing,” the statement added.

ABC has featured Kimmel’s late-night shows since 2003, but contracts with Kimmel’s network increased in May 2026, according to the Associated Press and CNN. That could mean more changes in the future.
