Smack Dove, in the middle of the hot dog season, is the day to celebrate Frankfurter: National Hot Dog Day.
According to the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council, the time between Memorial Day and Labor Day is considered “hot dog season.” Consumers have purchased around 38% of their annual hot dogs during that time, accumulating $1.16 billion in sales, the group estimates.
During the pandemic, the council designated the third Wednesday of July (also known as the National Hot Dog Mans) as a day to celebrate American classics.
Americans consume around 7 billion hot dogs during “hot dog season,” and around 818 hot dogs per second, the council says.

This offer is available until August 11th and is excellent in-store via the Shake Shack Mobile app or Shakeshack.com.
- Sheetz: Get 2 free hot dogs when you buy 10 gallons or more gas in one transaction from July 16th to July 22nd. Get offers in the Sheetz app under the Offerz tab.
- Sonic Drive-In: For the rest of the month, you can grab National Hot Dog Month bargains on the Sonic app: $1 corn dog, $2 nude dog, or $3 ft Quarter Pound Connie (each redeemable weekly).
