As autumn deepens across the United States, people are preparing to turn back the clocks to end daylight saving time.

Daylight saving time ended early on Thursday, November 2nd, when clocks went “back” by one hour, giving people in most parts of the United States an extra hour of sleep.
Daylight saving time always begins on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November.
Despite calls to make Daylight Saving Time a permanent part of Americans’ daily lives, and a failed Senate vote earlier this week, the time change was pushed back and rewarded by giving Americans much-needed extra time.

When will daylight saving time end in 2025?
In 2025, daylight savings time ends at 2 a.m. local time on Sunday, November 2.
What is daylight saving time?
Daylight Saving Time is a period from March to November when most Americans set their clocks forward one hour.
In March, clocks are moved forward to allow more sunlight on summer nights. However, the reason they “retreat” in November is to gain more morning sunlight.
Summer time or summer time?
The correct term is “save” time (not savings) for daylight saving time. However, the incorrect term “daylight saving time” is commonly used, especially in Australia, Canada, and the United States.
Do all states observe daylight saving time?
no. Currently, the following states and territories do not observe daylight saving time.
- Hawaii
- Arizona (excluding Navajo Nation)
- american samoa
- Guam
- Northern Mariana Islands
- puerto rico
- US Virgin Islands
