The artist known as the “King of Latin Trap” has won six Grammy Awards over his 10-year career, most recently winning Best Global Music Performance, Best Music Urbana Album and Album of the Year for “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS” at the 68th annual awards show on February 1st. In 2025, he became the world’s most streamed artist on Spotify.
Bad Bunny was announced as a performer for the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show on September 28, one week after completing a 31-day stay in Puerto Rico. When he was announced as the Super Bowl headliner, several conservative pundits and President Donald Trump criticized the choice, arguing that he was not a popular enough artist and was a divisive selection.
This will be the second time this year that Bad Bunny will take the stage during the Super Bowl halftime show. He was a featured guest at the halftime show of Super Bowl 55, along with Shakira and Jennifer Lopez. However, this year will be the first time he headlines the country’s biggest concert.
