To celebrate its fifth anniversary, Walmart+ will be introducing members to a new “Video Streaming Choice” in mid-September.

According to Walmart, the enhanced profits will provide Walmart+ members with access to Peacock in addition to Park+, which is available to Walmart+ members since September 2022, giving Walmart+ members more control over their entertainment experience.

“From September 15th, Walmart+ members will be able to choose Peacock and Paramount+ advertising support plans at no additional cost, further increasing the value and flexibility of their membership,” Walmart said in a news release. Walmart+ members can also switch between two services every 90 days.

“This additional level of flexibility is designed to meet the diverse entertainment needs of our members, placing Walmart+ in its own league as a dynamic, member-centric subscription service,” Walmart said in the release.

This is what you need to know about perks.

Walmart+ offers new “Video Streaming Choice”

Only Walmart+ members are eligible to use the new PERK. This includes access to “Arrangements of Premium Entertainment” available on Paramount+ Essential and Peacock Premium.

Paramount+ Essential gives Walmart+ members access to a selection of championship sports, iconic franchises, popular films, and original series such as NCIS: Tony & Ziva, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Landman, and Tulsa King.

The Peacock Premium exceptions provide access to live sports, blockbuster movies, reality TV favorites, access to NBC and bravo programming, and Spanish content such as Telemundo Hub.

The total cost of a Walmart+ subscription varies, with future members being able to pay $98 a year or $8.17 a month after a 30-day free trial. Government-supported people can get a Walmart+ subscription for half the price.

Competition with Amazon

The announcement offers Amazon Prime, a subscription-based distribution service, and Prime Video, a streaming service, as the Arkansas-based company is challenging Amazon.

Tech Juggernaut also offers access to a variety of other streaming services, including HBO Max, Starz, Paramount+, Apple TV+, and Peacock. Additional add-ons include Amazon Music Unlimited and Amazon photos.
