Victoria Beckham releases family statement amid feud with Brooklyn Beckham

Victoria Beckham has thanked her family and husband David Beckham as she was awarded France’s top honor by the Ministry of Culture, amid a public rift between the couple and their 26-year-old son Brooklyn Beckham.

The British designer and mother of four was made a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters in France on Monday, January 26, in recognition of her contribution to the fashion industry.

“Thank you to my business partners for believing in me, my family, and especially my husband and first investor David. I couldn’t be more grateful. You are everything to me,” she wrote in a celebratory Instagram post.

She added, “I have always deeply admired the French aesthetic and its seriousness in treating fashion as an art form. So to be recognized here and embraced in this way is a deep privilege that reflects decades of dedication and dedication.”

It’s unclear what the status of Victoria’s relationship with her son Brooklyn is after she lashed out at them and posted on Instagram on January 19th why they were estranged.

In a follow-up post on Jan. 27, Victoria wrote, “I couldn’t be more grateful.”

In a more than 800-word post, he accused his parents of “consistently” disrespecting his wife, “Bates Motel” actress Nicola Peltz Beckham.

Representatives for Victoria and David Beckham did not respond to USA TODAY’s requests for comment.

“False relationships were a part of the life I was born into,” he wrote. “My wife and I do not want a life shaped by images, press, or manipulation. All we want is peace, privacy, and happiness for ourselves and our future families.”

He clarified that he has no intention of “reconciling with his family” as he has been dominated by them for most of his life, adding, “For the first time in my life, I am standing up (for myself).”

Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz Beckham married in 2022 and renewed their vows in August 2025. Victoria and David attended the wedding but were absent from the vow renewal.

Victoria Beckham has not publicly responded to the accusations against Brooklyn’s family. However, David Beckham appeared to address this comment during an appearance on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” on January 20th.he said that social media can be a breeding ground for children to make “mistakes.”

The 50-year-old former soccer star has previously addressed the fact that social media has power, both good and bad, saying, “The bad things we’ve been talking about about what kids have access to these days can be dangerous.”

“That’s how kids learn. That’s what I try to teach them. Sometimes you have to let them make those mistakes,” he added.

David Beckham continued, “What I personally found, especially when it comes to children, is that you should use it for the right reasons. I was able to use my platform and my followers for UNICEF, and it became the biggest tool to let people know what’s going on for children around the world.”
