Rivian’s electric trucks and SUVs are fast, powerful, and include an array of advanced standard features. However, they are also more expensive than the average comparable gas or hybrid vehicle.

The 2022 Rivian R1T Adventure had an original Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of approximately $74,500 when it hit the scene as a brand-new electric pickup truck. In some cases, prices have been reduced by more than 30%. Carmax recently listed two 2022 R1T Adventure Electric Pickup Trucks for $51,998 before shipping and charges. There are several models on the used car market listed for less than $60,000.
The 2022 Rivian R1T Adventure offers 835 horsepower and 908 pounds of torque, making it one of the most powerful electric pickup trucks on the market.
For reference, a brand new 2025 Ford F-150 full-size pickup truck with a 5.0 liter V8 engine produces 400 horsepower. Rivian’s truck utilizes an incredible four electric motors to generate power despite its large size.
However, the midrange EV offers a relatively standard 314 miles of driving range.
Kelley Blue Book (KBB) has a fair purchase price for the 2022 Rivian R1T Adventure of $43,535, with a typical list price of $44,285.
Carvana sells used Rivian EVs for under $50,000
Carvana, another used car marketplace and traditional dealer alternative, sells Libyans for thousands of dollars below original MSRP. The 2022 Rivian R1T Adventure full-size electric pickup truck is listed for $49,590.
Carvana’s R1T listing is close to KBB fair market value.

Kelley Blue Book lists its “high-tech interior,” “unique styling” and driving range as strengths.
Rivian R1T offers features such as maximum ground clearance of 14.9 inches and strong off-road performance. For drivers who prioritize affordability and traditional utility, models such as the Ford F-150, RAM 1500, and Chevrolet Silverado 1500 may be better suited.
