The search for Savannah Guthrie’s mother continues more than two weeks after she was last seen.

Law enforcement in Arizona continues to investigate the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today anchor Savannah Guthrie. She was reported missing on Sunday, February 1st, and a $100,000 reward has been placed for information leading to her recovery, doubling the original $50,000 reward.

Nancy Guthrie has been missing since Jan. 31, and investigators said they believe she was taken against her will from her home outside Tucson. The FBI released an image of a masked, armed man who appears to be fiddling with a camera on Guthrie’s doorstep the morning she went missing, but has not identified him.

“Hundreds of detectives and investigators are currently assigned to this case, and there will continue to be increased law enforcement activity throughout Pima County as the investigation expands. Investigators are working around the clock,” the Pima County Sheriff’s Office said on February 11.

Investigators continue to follow leads, but as of Sunday, February 15, there have been no major developments in the case. The latest information is below.

Law enforcement is asking anyone with information to contact 1-800-CALL-FBI or the Pima County Sheriff’s Office tips.fbi.gov. (520-351-4900) or 88-CRIME.

The gloves recovered appear to match those seen on surveillance video.

On February 13, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that “multiple gloves were found” during the investigation, the closest of which was found approximately two miles from Guthrie’s home.

In a new statement on February 15, the FBI detailed that “approximately 16 gloves” were collected near the Guthrie home, most of which “were gloves that agents had discarded in various locations as they searched the area.”

But the FBI said investigators also recovered gloves that appear to be “matching the gloves of the subject of surveillance video” released last week that showed a man in Nancy Guthrie’s front door. The gloves, which were found “in a roadside field,” were sent to a private laboratory, and the FBI has received preliminary results, but is “waiting for quality control and official confirmation today before entering the unknown male’s profile into its database.”

The Pima County Sheriff’s Office previously acknowledged that law enforcement had collected DNA from Guthrie’s home that did not belong to her or anyone she had close contact with, and that “investigators are working to determine who it is.” The police department did not say where the DNA was found.

Has anyone been arrested in the Nancy Guthrie case?

In the latest update on Saturday, February 14, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office announced that investigators conducted a court-ordered search at an Arizona residence the night before.

The warrant was based on leads received by law enforcement, but no arrests were made, the department said.

The sheriff’s office also confirmed that investigators conducted a traffic stop on Friday, Feb. 13, and questioned individuals in connection with the incident, but no arrests were made.

Sheriff says Guthrie investigation could last ‘years’

In an interview with The New York Times published on February 13, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said investigators were still “intensely searching” for Nancy Guthrie and was confident they would find her and the person who took her.

“Probably an hour from now,” he told the NYT. “Maybe weeks, months, years from now. But we’re not quitting. We’re going to find Nancy. We’re going to find this guy.”

What we know about the suspect in the Nancy Guthrie case

After the FBI released an image of the person who was at Nancy Guthrie’s doorstep the morning she disappeared, the agency released more information about the suspect on February 12th.

In a social media post, the FBI said the person seen in the doorbell camera footage is a “male of average build, approximately 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall” and “wearing a black 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack.” The FBI said these details were confirmed through forensic analysis of the footage.
