Trump’s Rose Garden Redesign, Ballroom Plans Cause Controversy
President Donald Trump’s redesign of Rose Garden elicited a mixed reaction after it was revealed, causing controversy.
President Donald Trump debuted his newly paved Rose Garden Patio at a September 5 dinner for Washington Insider, a brand of “Rose Garden Club.”
Speaking to dinner guests on a white concrete-paved patio that was previously grassy grassy grass, Trump said the “Rose Garden Club” would recognize Congress, the Senators and “people who can bring peace and success to our country.”
Trump said he hosted a group of top-level tech moguls who attended a gorgeous White House dinner the night before on the new Balla Garden Patio, but the weather prevented it.

“They didn’t want rain on their beautiful heads,” Trump said of the group, including Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg, formerly Facebook, Apple CEO, Tim Cook and Openai founder Sam Altman. Elon Musk, who played a major role in the first few months of the second Trump administration, which leads federal agency slashes, was absent.
The tech big name “may have survived a bit of rain, but I wanted you to be number one,” Trump appeared on the insider’s table in Washington.
Gold embossed stationary: “White House Rose Garden Club”
Trump’s advisor Stephen Chang announced the opening of the “club” on social media with a photo of a gold embossed stationary sheet reading “The White House Rose Garden Club” next to a sophisticated silverware set.
Earlier this summer, Trump announced plans to pave Rose Garden, a historic location outside his elliptical office, which is a historic place that has been a historic presidential moment for over a century.
He told reporters on August 3 that the old garden was “always wet and damp.”
“When we hold a press conference, you’ll be in the mud,” he told reporters. “If it rained, it took three, four or five days to dry out and it could not be used for its intended purpose.”
This new design is reminiscent of the patio of Mar-A-Lago, Trump’s luxurious South Florida club. The yellow and white striped umbrellas set up on the table earlier this summer are similar.
According to photos posted on the official White House X account, the umbrella was knocked down for a “club” dinner. This photo showed a proper diner sitting on a yellow cushion on approximately two dozen tables throughout the white concrete square.
